*#76# + call - Setting Interrogation Succeeded Connected Line Presentation Disabled
*31# + call - Sets outgoing "Caller ID" to be private
#31# + call - Sets outgoing "Caller ID" to be visible
*#31# + call - Displays current setting of outgoing "Caller ID". (Disabled = visible, Enabled = private)
*#67# + call - All sorts of call forwarding settings (enables call forwarding when busy to some random number, dont use unless you know wtf you are doing)
*3001#12345#* - Field Test, available from unactivated iphone too
For more GSM codes try some of the following (these are all phone independent, they will work on any gsm phone)

You can't by default, at least Apple haven't included it. Some hackers have, however, found a way to do it. Be warned though, it requires a reasonable bit of work. More details available in this thread: http://www.iphoneowners.com/general-iphone-chat/513-custom-ringtones-confirmed-iphone.html

Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but anyone that is willing to take both the phone off your hands AND your money to hack it, is a person you'd want to meet in person. And possibly take a photo of the two of you together.

My hope is that whenever Apple releases OS 1.1, it will allow for custom ringtones. They'd be foolish not to, given that it's part iPod and the music is right there...
