Thread: will upgrading to 2.0 brick my jail broken iPhone?

hey I'm looking to upgrade my iPhone to 2.0 so I can use the new apps store. Buy will this brick my jail broken iPhone with the installer?

iPhone 2.0 made a brick of my iphone! As I feared, it appears that the download/itunes system is swamped. Whose good idea was it to launch the new phone and the software worldwide at the same time. Now my phone has NOTHING ON IT and I keeping trying to check in and see if itunes sync will free up. Apple support has been working with me but appears to be capacity issue.

pilatuspat, what all did you do to your phone to brick it and is it still bricked? Did you just sync it and upgrade to 2.0 and brickage? Have you tried running it through any software (iTunes, 3rd party) to restore it and at least get your phone back? What F/W were you running prior? Was it jailbroken to begin with?

i just updated mi iphone to 2.0 and it says that the sim card is not supported
