    3gs or 4?

My brother is finally thinking about getting an iphone. My mom is going to buy it for his birthday. She is looking to get him the 3gs...should she do this or just get him the new one? I didn't have the 3g so I don't really know the major differences between the models.

This will be his first smartphone. He really likes his itouch that is why my mom is considering buying him the iphone. He is big on music and probably texting and AIM. I don't think he will use his phone so much for the internet. I know he basically wants to replace his ipod touch.

Thanks Penny, i will definitely be emailing you. My mom is looking to get him the phone within the next 2 weeks so we are gathering as much information as possible so she can decide.

I phone 4 is much better than the 3gs, however as the product is new in the market it would be too early to comment on its performance.

If I were you I definitely would go for the new iPhone 4 as the 3GS is already obsolete.
