That's a large amount of sales in a short time. I guess all the promotion and hype paid off. The media sure gave them plenty of free advertising.

    500,000 x $550 = $275,000,000

(I'm using $550 as the number as it's right in the middle of the price of both models of the iphone)

Apple is a large & successful company. It has marketed the iphone well. The sale was more than estimated.People waiting in front of stores even before it was released. Man that's called hype.

The predictions were said to be they would sell 2,000,000 iphones this year. They are over 500,000 now and I'm sure they'll have no problem reaching 2,000,000 by year end.

It's amazing how people just dive into stuff like this. The phone has way too many negatives, negatives that I feel outweigh its positives. Simply a waste of money IMO.

There are a lot of people that likethem though sbhatt. They may need to work out some issues but it is actually a nice piece of technology that can only improve.

To each his own sbhatt I researched and knew of most of the negatives before I bought. No MMS, big deal. No voice dail, big woop. No 3G - Its not avaiable everywhere so even if the phone did support 3g you still have to be near a 3G anttenna. The phone is a new gen device that if nothing else will force other manufactures to design better phone interfaces. That itself is a benifit to the consumer.
