IPhone Users Will Need an ITunes Account

Apple Inc. sent an e-mail to consumers interested in the iPhone telling them they'll need an account on its iTunes online store to set up the device.

The message, titled ``Get Ready for iPhone,'' was sent today to people who signed up for news about the product, said Steve Dowling, a spokesman for Cupertino, California-based Apple. The iPod-based mobile phone will be released in the U.S. June 29.

I don't know if it is a good or a bad thing as I know alot of people do not want to sign up for an itunes account. Guess we will see how this all works out.

It is fine by me as long as you don't need to enter any credit card information for an itunes account. I don't want to get sneaky companies charging my credit card.

As long as itunes is free, I don't mind signing up for an account to setup my phone.

Can we use someone else's itunes account to setup the phone?

If you're planning on buying any apps, music, movies, books... you're gonna have to supply this info.

That isn't going to happen... ridiculous.

    It's free. Always has been.

Sure... As long as don't mind going back to that account every time you want to change something. As far as Apple is concerned, the account holder is also the phone owner. As it should be.
